2014 marks my 20th year in the radio business (yep, I started young!)
After obtaining a degree in radio journalism I've spent the last two decades working in newsrooms and programme departments at local, regional and national radio stations.
I've worked as a News Editor again at local and regional level and produced programming and news bulletins for stations small and large.
Much of my career has been spent working as peak-time breakfast news editor and presenter - I've delivered quality, relevant news bulletins tailored to the station's audience in an authoritative yet friendly style.
I have also extensive experience of creating compelling, fun and formal, non-news speech programming - including comedy, sports, factual features and am a showbusiness specialist - and helped radio stations take their first tentative steps into cyberspace developing early websites and pioneering use of social media.
My skillset also includes extensive PR and publicity, event management and logistics experience.
You may have heard my voice on one of many voiceover assignments I've done in a formal news-style, warm friendly delivery or a character voice. Or you may have seen me hosting an event, which I have done too.
Additionally I am an active advocate for radio; speaking to schools, students, community organisations and companies about the importance of the medium and what it can do for them. I can also advise radio stations about connecting with their audience more effectively.
